Carissa Atallah is an emerging playwright from sunny Southern California. Her work has been championed by organizations including The Kennedy Center, Samuel French, and The Playwrights Foundation— and performed throughout the US. Carissa’s creative works explore matters of identity-making in the modern world. She aligns her signature brand of humor with nuanced sociopolitical awareness in an attempt to make sense of the human condition. She has been recognized as a contributing artistic voice to the Me Too Movement and continuously investigates her own liminality as a bicultural (Lebanese and Latinx) first-generation American.
